Our monthly Meet-up of 26 April reflected La Plage Factory's ambition to go beyond handshakes and business cards, bringing together a wide range of founders and entrepreneurs with a shared goal to network and create new partnerships.  

🌟 Meet-up highlights 

For our April edition, our special guest speaker was Vanessa V.Chellen , President of the CJD, a dynamic platform for entrepreneurs that fosters managerial growth, promotes innovation, and advocates for responsible and sustainable business practices. 

We also had the pleasure of hosting a diverse group of professionals, each bringing their unique expertise to the table. Our event concluded with an engaging pitching session, during which our startups received valuable feedback from our attendees. 

🚀 LPF Monthly Highlights  

🔹 Expanding our horizons beyond startups: In addition to our ongoing support to tech-driven startups, La Plage Factory is now embracing entrepreneurs with a growth mindset as we believe that SMEs in Mauritius too have the potential to bring about positive change through innovation. To mark this exciting transition, we are pleased to announce our Growth & Innovation event scheduled to take place on 24 May, a conference for ambitious startups and SME entrepreneurs. Our event will include an interactive session led by Laurent Bourelly , an international consultant in Strategic Marketing, and an insightful panel discussion highlighting local success stories of innovation and growth. 🔹 New partnership with the CJD 

Founded in 1938 in France, CJD is a non-for-profit organisation that aims to drive innovation, sustainable development, and social responsibility through a variety of initiatives and training designed to support the professional growth and development of its members. The CJD serves as a practical and collaborative school for entrepreneurs. It leverages the power of peer-to-peer exchange as the best way to understand and learn how to innovate and grow in a sustainable way. At the heart of the CJD is the belief in self-transformation: It encourages managers to broaden their perspectives and dare to explore other possibilities. 

The CJD and La Plage Factory share an ambition to enhance growth and innovation in the Mauritian ecosystem. We were proud to have them as a sponsor for this edition of our Meet-up.  

🔹 Supporting investors readiness with Mo Angels: As part of our ongoing acceleration program, we teamed up with Mo Angels and hosted a pitch contest on 2 May. Three of our founders, namely Thibaut Walle from Alaprann.mu , Thierry Lincoln from dodobird.ai and @D'laila Assani from @E-Fort showcased their innovative solutions in front of Mo Angels investors including seasoned business angel Isabelle de Melo . We are pleased to announce that Dodobird.ai has been selected to pitch at Mo Angels’ General Assembly on 30 May! 

🚀 Startup highlights 

🔹 Yugo has launched the updated version of its mobile app, strengthening its position as the best transport platform in Mauritius. Thanks to its enhanced features, Yugo provides an even more secure and reliable transport experience in Mauritius. 

🔹Have you seen our latest start-up success story? As part of the monthly Star-tup highlight series, we showcased the latest accomplishments of Alaprann.mu which is part of our acceleration cohort and recently concluded a successful Round B fundraising phase. They are now looking to partner up with private sector organisations whose employees and their families could benefit from their educational offer.
