Rwazi receives an honorary award from the LA Area Chamber and the World Trade Week Southern California Committee

Rwazi Founder Joseph Rutakangwa receives the 2023 Innovator in Trade award at the World Trade Week Southern California Committee.

La Plage Factory is once again proud of the impact that its startups are making within and beyond Africa. On another special feature, one of our startups, Rwazi, founded by Joseph Rutakangwa and Eric Sewankabo, received the 2023 Innovator in Trade award from the LA Chamber and the World Trade Week Southern California Committee.

The World Trade Week is the largest convening of its kind, which celebrates the importance and benefits of global trade to the local and national economy. The Chamber, which launches the start of a month-long celebration each year by bringing together business executives, leaders of trade organizations, and members of the diplomatic corps for the WTW Kick-off Conference, attracts nearly 900 participants globally and has become the leading celebration of global trade in the nation. This award recognizes Rwazi’s significant contribution as an African Diaspora in LA.

A few months ago, Rwazi received $4 million seed funding to scale its market intelligence. With the startup bagging new awards and significant recognition within the global arena, as La Plage Factory, we join in celebrating these strides as it aligns with our mission of generating role models from our entrepreneurs.
