From Mauritius to L.A., La Plage Factory is proud of Rwazi, the first African startup selected by TechStars
The startup was born in 2018 in Mauritius, created by 2 students from the African Leadership University: Eric Sewankambo and Joseph Rutakangwa.
RWAZI provides organizations with fresh, on-ground data from markets across sub-Saharan Africa to facilitate effective decision making.
Incubated at LaPlageFactory Mauritius (Coworking Port-Louis), the African startup has benefited from several support programs. These include the National SME Incubation Scheme (NSIS) of the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council, as well as Facebook’s Start-up Program and the Vienna Start-up Package.
Rwazi secured seed funding in 2020 from Mauritius SME Equity Fund.
